INSTRUCTIONS TO WRITE AN ARTICLE

Login to online KB with the user name and password. If any one need a login or lost the password, please mail to "kb@poornam.com". Please do not share the login details.

How to add/edit an article

After logging in, you will be able to see your articles and their status under "Knowledgebase" tab. If the "Published" column is enabled, it means the post is approved by the moderators and is now visible to all.

If the "Published" column is not enabled, it simply means the post is under verification. The moderators have the rights to edit, change or delete the articles.

You can also see the comments for your posts on the right side. The comments to each posts are also moderated.

Add:
Click on the "Articles" section and then click "Add New" button for adding new posts.

Choosing Category:
This is important. Please select a sub category under a parent category. The parent category does not have a "--" symbol before the name. In the next, you can mirror multiple sub categories for the post (Press CTRL for multiple selections). The posts will be viewable under all mirrored categories too.

Example:

Issue: squirrelmail error in Ensim.
I have selected "Control Panel Issues" under "Ensim Hosting Control Panel" in the "Category:" box.
Then selected "Ensim Linux" and "Squirrelmail" under Webmail in the "Mirror in Categories:" box.

ALWAYS AVOID SELECTING PARENT CATEGORIES IN BOTH THE COLUMNS. This is to avoid showing the number of posts under a category in the home page.

Title:
Choose a good title for the post. Avoid choosing a lengthy one.

Answer:
Here you can write the article. You can use the current fonts available in the editor. You can highlight codes, commands, errors etc. in the post. This is similar to the "pre" tag entries in the wiki.

To highlight it, please follow the instructions.

    1.     Click on the "Templates" icon next to "Source" in the editor.
    2.     Select the "Info Box" and UN-CHECK the box corresponding to "Replace actual contents"
    3.     Type the contents in the box. Use brown color for text and should be in BOLD letters.

Meta Keywords/Meta Description:
Please fill with the appropriate keywords and description for the post. This will be helpful while searching and googling.

Related Articles:
You can select any related articles (existing posts) for your article. This will be displayed as "Also read" after publishing the post.

You can Delete or Edit the post under "Action" column.
